What should I expect in my first Yoga class?

Lyndsey leads the class from the front, giving demonstrations and verbal instructions. Her classes will challenge you. How hard you work is up to yourself – she’s only there to guide you. If something doesn’t feel good don’t do it. If you feel you want more, listen to the prompts for deepening.

I’m injured or unwell. Can I still come to Yoga class?

Providing its not contagious then yes, let Lyndsey know beforehand and check if the class will be suitable for you. Yoga can help heal injuries at a faster pace, and sometimes help aid illness.

What should I wear?

Wear light, comfortable clothes you can move freely in. We practice on mats so no footwear is needed – barefoot it best.

I’m not very flexible, do I need to be?

No! You do not have to be flexible to practice yoga. Flexibility comes with the practice of yoga. I truly believe that yoga is for everyone, everyone can do something, and every pose can be modified to suit the individual. It’s not about being able to touch your toes, it’s about learning to relax, using the correct alignment and working with the breath to deepen a pose until eventually with practice, you get there. It might take a week, it might take a year, but what happens on the way is truly magical and will undoubtedly resound off the mat in your every day life as well.
